Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Architect – Infrastructure Cybersecurity supports efforts to mature infrastructure security capabilities for United Airlines. You will be part of a cross-disciplinary Cyber team responsible for full stack security architecture. In this role the Architect will work on the creation and maintenance of security relevant documentation and partner with product, platform, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the adoption of security standard methodologies across the entire application or system lifecycle. The architect with help continuously improve our cyber controls and associated playbooks, workflows, processes, and procedures.

  • Identify cybersecurity issues, strengths and weaknesses across various cyber domains and partner organizations that introduce risk and provide solutions

  • Evaluate existing business security strategies, develop, and implement improvements and new security architectures that align with our cybersecurity strategy

  • Plan, design, build, and test approaches and solutions that are tied to business outcomes and our cybersecurity strategy and vision

  • Track developments and changes across cybersecurity domains while ensuring that new developments are adequately addressed in our cybersecurity strategy

  • Provide cybersecurity guidance when evaluating the impacts of a solution to ensure linkages between our cybersecurity strategy, people, process, and technology

  • Participate in and drive security advisory boards and committees, providing security architecture review and process ownership for new and existing solutions

  • Develops, reviews, and approves cybersecurity security standards and works with partner cyber domain teams and organization to align on security requirements, while tracking and validating controls are being met

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 6+ years of technical experience, 3 years directly related to security and architecture.

  • Desired experience, but not required, in conducting mobile threat assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risks specific to mobile devices, applications, and networks.

  • Programming language structures and logic

  • Knowledge of the methods, standards, and approaches for describing, analyzing, and documenting an enterprise and security architecture.

  • Knowledge of common adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures

  • How traffic flows across the network and packet-level analysis

  • Knowledge of cyber defense policies, procedures, and regulations

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Salary Range: $108,680 – $137,019

  • 8+ years of technical experience, 5 years directly related to security and architecture
